On a late afternoon, I was strolling the beachfront of Misibis Bay Rain Tree, and I couldn’t help but admire the innate natural beauty in front of me – the orange glow of the setting sun from a distance, the feel of cool pristine waters at my feet as they kiss the unique golden coral shores. That moment made me smile, sigh, and say: “Indeed life is good!”
At another side of the beach, a group of friends are happily spending the late afternoon playing beach volleyball, and near them a foreign couple and their child are having their own stroll.
Worry-free, laid-back, and serene—this is the usual environment one can experience at Misibis Bay Rain Tree. It is located in Cagraray Island, at the western coast of Albay (about an hour’s drive from Legaspi City) and is considered a new haven for people wanting to spend time away from city life and its stresses.
The property contains 38 luxurious suites, which are either by the pool or at the beach front. Each suite is perfectly designed with high airy ceilings, large terraces, sun decks, and large glass windows that create a subtle transition from indoor living space to a spectacular outdoor environment.

One can spend a game or two of billiards, table tennis, mahjong, video games such as Wii or Playstations 3, or a round of Karaoke. Want to de-stress or work-out? One can enjoy the spa and gym facilities.
Outdoors, one won’t run out of things to try. One can simply take a refreshing swim at either of its three infinity pools, one of which is a lagoon-shaped pool that recreates the natural current of a river. By the beach, one can try a jet ski or banana boat ride, go snorkeling, kayaking or get an intro diving lesson.
It even includes extreme outdoor adventures that are unforgettable and enjoyable. One can sign up for a tour at Bicol’s other scenic spots and activities. There is the Busay Waterfalls Adventure, where one can marvel at the refreshing sight of Busay Falls and be astounded at the breathtaking falls.
Another is the Mount Mayon Trek that includes challenging adventures, such as climbing up steep rugged terrain or riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) going up the lava bed of Majestic Mount Mayon, and getting a panoramic view of Bicol.
At the end of my short stay at the property, I couldn’t help but be amazed at its blissful ambiance and surroundings. It is a paradise, with a majestic and dramatic beachfront – with scenic sun views, and vast seascapes; relaxing suites where one can spend the night or day in, and entertaining indoor and outdoor amenities that nay guest will truly enjoy.
